Hans Pedersen Digre :Original Hendricks Settler
Immigrated 1869
Name used as a settler was Henry Peterson but he later changed it to Hans Digre.
None of the daughters married so the family branch is now extinct. Marit (born in 1881) was a school teacher. Christie and Maria (born in 1887) continued to live on the old homestead until their death. Christi was somewhat crippled up and Maria took care of her. They did a whole lot of weaving of rugs as a hobby and business. Maria seemed so full of vigor and it was a surprise to every one that after the passing of Christie, Maria ended in the hospital and passed away also in the matter of only three and a half months.
Hans married Kari Pedersen Troøyen October 06, 1874
On March 3, 2004 I received the following email from a Digre descendant:
Jim,
I just came across your website and can I say WOW!
I am not even sure where to start except for my GGrandfather was Peder (Pederson) Digre in 1877 he immigrated to with his wife Marit, their daughter Marit and his Mother-in-Law Kjirsti Angrinsdatter.
Peder was born 24 Jun 1844 and died sometime in 1925. Peder and Marit had 8 children, Marit (b.1875), Christie (b.1878), Petra (1879), Maria (1882), Peter (1884), Henry (My GGranfather) (1886), Martin (1891), Anton (1893). Petra married a Trooien (Peder Nilson) and so did Anton, he married Christie (Trooien) and her Grandmother Guri lived with them for awhile.
My GGrandfather Henry and his wife Emma (Rude) had 7 children and 2 are still living today. One in Minneapolis and the other in California. Belive it or not the oldest (Vivian b.1914) and the youngest (Joyce b. 1926) and both still have very good memories.
Well I am not sure where to go from here, but I hope to here from you soon, and we maybe can help each other out.

Descendant information on Hans Digre came from Ken Lien in January 2005 - his email information follows:Per (Peter) Hanssen Digre (1808 - 1892) married in 1839 to Maret
Pedersdatter Kirkvoldmo (Klokkarh.)(1812 - 1882) She is buried
at Singsaas in America - Children -
1) Hans - died still born
2) Per born 1840, married Hannok Paulsen from Trondheim -
2nd marriage to Elisabet Jonson from Levanger, went to
Namdalen.
3) Hans Pedersen Digre (1842 - 1935) went to America where
in 1874 he married Kari Pedersdatter Trooien (1844-1924)
in 1st wedding in Lake Hendricks colony. Had 2 daughters -
Christie (12/6/1876 - 12/13/1965) & Marie (7/3/1887 -
7/8/1965) Parents and children after them lived on
Prairie Farm.
4) Per, born 1844, died 1925) went to Trondheim, married
Marit Holonding (1851 - 1897) (buried at Singsaas,
America, had a daughter Marit Digre (1875 - 1950)
5) Magli, born 1847, married Ola Torgrimsen from Telemark
6) Kersti, born 1849. (Son: Hans, born 1871, went to
America, father was Ola Inbrektsen Rodslokkhaugen
7) Magnhil, born (7/28/1849 - 6/13/1902) married ? Onstrom
8) Anne, born 1858 (the previous sisters all went to America)
Note: One of the 2 Per's above came to America and was known
as Peter Digre (1844 - 1925) - He was father of Peter
(6/1/1884 - 2/8/1916) (Pearl Anderson's (1913) father, Pearl
is married to Alvin Anderson (1913 - 1975)), Anton,
Martin (1891-1970), Henry (had 7 children), Marit, Petra
(Digre) Trooien & Mabel (4/5/11 - 4/5/11). Anton ran Digre
Plumbing & Heating and Martin was a mail carrier.

2) Per (Peter) Pedersen Digrehagen (moved to Blomoya also
known as Digrehagen)(1795-1845), married in 1834 to Anne
Olsdatter Hindoyhaug
3) Ragnhil (1798- ?) married Ola Olsen Nesset (Nor'g)(had
son Hans born in 1821 with Jonas Andreassen Singsas,
Sog. - Hans married Dordi Pedersdatter Fjesethaug and
went to America - Born to them were I. Jo born 1843, II.
Peter born 1849, III. Siri born 1855, married Ivar
Arntsen Sagen from Oppdal, IV. Magli, born 1859. Hans
was a tanner.)(Note: Not sure if these children are
Kirkvold's, Nesset's or Singsas's.)
4) Hans - died at age 22
5) Petter - died at age 80
6) Maret, born 3/12/1812, died 2/14/1887 (buried in Singsaas
Cemetery) married Per Hanssen Digre (Oppst.)
